According to the German Gene Diagnostics Act (Gendiagnostikgesetz – GenDG), genetic investigations to clarify paternity / family relationships may only be performed by institutions with accreditation to provide analyses that is obtained through a generally recognized body.

The Center for Human Genetics and Laboratory Diagnostics is the proud holder of accreditation from the German Accreditation Body (Deutschen Akkreditierungsstelle, DAkkS) according to DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2018 [Certificate] for forensic genetics (family relationship analysis).

The Center for Human Genetics and Laboratory Diagnostics is a regular and successful participant in the external quality assessments (EQA) of the German Association for Parentage Investigation (Ringversuchen der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Abstammungsbegutachtung, DGAB), to document the high quality of analyses [Certificate].

A minimum of 15 microsatellite systems are examined by the Center for Human Genetics and Laboratory Diagnositics in a family relationship analysis. Thereby obtaining a result with a probability of over 99.99%. To exclude paternity, the analysis is repeated with a second sample.

In contrast to many other test providers, a family relationship analysis from the Center for Human Genetics and Laboratory Diagnostics is based on a validated scientific, statistical test procedure.

The analyses are performed entirely by qualified personnel and analyzed by qualified scientists or physicians. The methods and equipment used are state of the art.
